Michael and Amanda’s Wedding

A couple weekends back, I had the honor of photographing Michael and Amanda’s wedding at Dancing Deer Mountain in Junction City. It was a beautiful blustery morning, but I could see the dark clouds rolling in as I drove to the venue. Fortunately, it was mostly dry as friends and family helped set up the ceremony and reception area. Everyone was in good spirits and was not going to let a little Oregon rain stand in the way of making this day special for Michael and Amanda!

Something that made this day even more special is that Amanda and I work for the same company. When she asked me to help photograph her wedding, I felt deeply honored. Usually when people see someone they know from work at the grocery store or anywhere on their day off, they tend to hide, haha. But she came directly to me, inviting me in on such a special day, to photograph their wedding. What an honor!

The rain started to pick up as their first look was taking place. Luckily, we had plenty of umbrellas. We do all live in Oregon, after all! The wedding party was there to help keep Michael and Amanda dry and to help her dress from getting dirty. Like I said, they were not going to let the rain dampen their spirits! Micheal was so excited to see Amanda in her dress with her hair and makeup complete. She was a beautiful bride!

After taking some portraits in the rain, we hid the couple as more guests arrived. Once the ceremony began, you could hear the sound of the rain all around us, creating a cozy and relaxing feeling. They shared their vows to each other and officially became husband and wife!

After signing the certificate and a few quick touch-ups, everyone was ready to celebrate. Michael and Amanda were welcomed to the reception area with a bubble entrance (which is my new favorite entrance idea). The day continued with toasts, a meal and dancing. The rain let up just in time for the shoe game and cake cutting. We were able to grab a few more portraits with the cleared up weather.

This was such a sweet wedding and I loved getting to hear stories about them and just how loved they are by everyone. Congratulations Michael and Amanda. I pray that your marriage will be full of love and lots of laughter!

Enjoy some of these photos from the day!\
