Aaron and Chloe’s Wedding
If you loved the outdoors and lived in Eastern Oregon and were planning to marry your best friend, where would you choose to have your ceremony? Aaron and Chloe’s wedding was held at The Spot at Smith Rock with a breathtaking view — the perfect setting for two people who adore nature and adventure.
Brittany (my second photographer) and I started the day at SCP Redmond Hotel, where Chloe and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The room was filled with laughter, a little happy chaos, and that unmistakable pre-ceremony excitement. From there, we made our way to Smith Rock to meet Aaron and the groomsmen. The weather was cool and breezy — a perfect mix for an outdoor wedding.
Before the ceremony, Aaron and Chloe shared a “first touch,” where they exchanged a couple fun surprises that had everyone nearby smiling. Their two beloved dogs, who are truly like their kids, played an adorable role during the ceremony, adding even more personality to an already joyful celebration.
After the ceremony, we hiked down into the canyon for wedding party photos — a real adventure in itself! One bridesmaid even had to hitch a piggyback ride down the trail since heels and hiking don’t always mix. The laughter and lighthearted spirit made for some of my favorite candid moments of the day.
The reception was full of thoughtful, personal touches that made the celebration uniquely theirs. Each table featured old family photos that honored loved ones and shared memories, while the seating chart was displayed with a special ladder that once belonged to the groom’s dad. The reception tables were also named after different hiking spots in Oregon, weaving their shared love of exploring the outdoors together into their reception.
The evening continued under a cozy tent with heaters keeping everyone warm. Guests were invited to dinner through a creative trivia game about Aaron and Chloe, which kept everyone laughing and engaged. Heartfelt speeches from family and friends brought tears to many eyes, and as Brittany and I packed up for the night, the party was still in full swing — the perfect ending to a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
