Ben and Emily’s Wedding

Over the summer, I had the opportunity to work along side Becky Chambers of Studio 623 Photography. She needed a second photographer to help out with Ben and Emily’s wedding. Everything was so perfect about this day! There was only one little detail I think we all would have liked to have changed…

First, we have to talk about this GORGEOUS venue! If you are looking for an incredible view, check out Cape Horn Estate in the Columbia Gorge. This little gem is tucked away behind a cute little general store. In fact, I was shocked how open the area was given that it did seem to be a bit hidden!

Ok, now back to this awesome couple! Becky had told me that Ben and Emily had a previous ceremony as they were planning to marry during the Covid outbreak. This would be her third opportunity to work with the couple: their engagement, original ceremony and now the wedding for family and friends that were not able to attend the first ceremony. In fact, you can check out Becky’s full story on Ben and Emily here along with photos from all three events.

The day went so smooth! Now I second shot for about 10 different photographers this last summer and Becky was one of my favorites! She was so organized, calm and really quick in knowing what she was going for. I felt we really did divide and conquer the day!

There was only one little thing I would have changed and that was the HEAT! It was over 100* out that day. At one point, I looked over and poor grandma had sweat dripping from her hair! Luckily, there was air conditioning inside and the couple had provided their bridal party with portable fans. I would 100% recommend them for your summer weddings. You can find them here. They totally saved the day!
